Miranda Lambert will soon hit the road on her Bandwagon tour, and thanks to the chart-topper's non-profit organization MuttNation Foundation pet parents jumped on the pet adoption bandwagon, hosting a dog adoption event during CMA Fest in Nashville!
As country music fans met their favorite stars during the four-day event at Music City Center, a plethora of adoptable pups from Nashville Humane Association got the chance to meet their new forever families. A total of 56 Fidos were adopted this year, turning the total to more than 150 dogs united with pet parents over the past three years of the event.
Doggedly devoted to both the singer and the Spots she supports, one family drove 11 hours from Pennsylvania to find their new BFF (Forever Furry Friend) at the "Best in Show" pet adoption event. Speaking about the latest addition to their family, the pet parents stated: "Marley, formerly known as Priscilla, has already made herself right at home in Pennsylvania. She's the perfect fit for our family!"
Many of the dogs who found a two-legged "duet partner" of their very own at the event had been given musical monikers in honor of country crooners past and present, including Lady A,. Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, Dottie West, Luke Bryan, Zac Brown, George Strait, and the singer who holds the number one spot in the hearts of the multitude of dogs and cats she has helped over the years, Miranda Lambert.
Since its start in 2009, MuttNation-- which was co-founded by the entertainer and her mother, Bev-- has supported and partnered with shelters from coast to coast to find loving homes for thousands of companion animals in need. The organization has also helped to transport countless canines and cats affected by natural disasters. (In 2017 Miranda Lambert joined members of MuttNation Foundation on a three-day mission of mercy to move dogs and cats already in shelters in Houston and the surrounding areas so pets separated from their families can have places to stay as they waited to be reunited with their loved ones.)
Bev, who met her famous daughter's fans at the event, said that "Since early childhood Miranda has had a keen love for pets of all kinds, but especially for dogs. As her passion and platform grew it was only natural to want to use her voice to make a difference in their lives. Co-founding MNF was a great way to use our strong mother-daughter bond to further a cause so near and dear to our hearts."
Fans who are in tune with Miranda Lambert's pet cause can help MuttNation Foundation in a number of ways, such as:
