One day before she takes her final bow as everyone's favorite matchmaker in the Broadway revival Hello, Dolly!, entertainment icon Bernadette Peters will help to match adoptable dogs and cats with their special someone to love as the curtain rises on the 20th annual star-studded pet adoption event Broadway Barks!

Stepping into her real life role of animal advocate, Peters and her Hello, Dolly! co-star Victor Garber will co-host the afternoon of dogged devotion to the option of pet adoption in Shubert Alley, where companion animals from 28 New York City area shelters and rescue organizations will get the chance to "audition" prospective pet parents.

Stars Taking on Supporting Roles to Shine a Spotlight on Adoptables

Produced once again by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the event will also feature an array of famous faces who will be waiting in the wings for the start of a celebrity presentation, when they will help adoptable dogs take center stage! About Broadway Barks

Co-founded by Bernadette Peters and Mary Tyler Moore in 1998, since its start more than 2,000 dogs and cats have lapped up the limelight at the annual pet adoption event, with an estimated 85 percent "cast" in the real life role of a special someone's fur baby.

When: July 14, 2018 starting at 3 p.m. (The celebrity presentation of adoptable pups will take place from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
